Red Tail Hawk, Oil on panel, 38 by 38"

 

Painted this Cooper's Hawk in oil on a 24 by 24 inch panel. Still in unknown territory painting birds. I have a Cooper's Hawk that regularly hunts in my backyard. Amazing animal to see up close.

 Just finished this painting 3/16/2022. It is oil on a panel 11 by 16 ". This is the first bird I have painted just to paint a bird.

 I started painting mountain lions from an experience where a mountain lion visited the ranch I work on. I wanted to try to get close to life size scale in the painting. This painting is 36 by 60 inches, oil on canvas.

 This is a gouache painting on paper 32 by 50" of Main Elk Creek in Colorado. This is a fresh attempt at landscape painting after taking about a 10 year break from landscape painting. Above all, the amount of things going on in natural environments interests me.
